Scimitar is a design from the late 1950's but over 25 years was built in the backyard of the former Purcell(owners) family home in Geelong. MOst of the hull was completed over a 5 year period, the keel, stem and horntimbers all made from Ironbark that grew in private land in the Anglesea area. She is part of the Classic Yacht Association of Australia. |
