Commissioned by the lawyer, Charles Plumtre Johnson, this was to be his third in a series of four Moonbeams. She was the 491st Fife design and had a yawl rig. In 1988 she was restored for John Poncia at Camper & Nicholsons. 18/10/04 moonbeam out for major refit at Monaco Marine in Marines de Cogolin, St Tropez. Teak planks being removed to check the frames. Plan for new keel bolts, new teak deck, new plumbing and new electrics. The owner, Laurence Bouquet, daughter of the late Didier Waechter, also owns Merrymaid. Moonbeam III was back on the water for the regattas in 2005 where she broke her topmast at the Cannes regatta. |
