Used by the German Air Force (Luftwaffe) to train pilots in navigation.

'Whilst serving in  the Royal Navy I was drafted to 'Marabu' in 1970 at Whale Island where I spent the first year as Mate and over 1971-74 as Skipper, which was the longest time that anyone had the job.'
