Design No. 476 of John Alden and built in the same year as the famous Alden schooner, Malabar X, she started off as gaff rigged Originally named 'Meridian'. 'Lord Jim' raced a great deal up and down the States eastern seaboard and lined up against the likes of the Herreshoff ketch, Ticonderoga. She was restored in 1960.
