Jolie Brise is the classic and celebrated French pilot cutter that first sailed to fame as the winner of the inaugural 1925 Ocean Race, now known as the Fastnet. She is the subject of numerous journal articles and two excellent books: Bryer's 'Jolie Brise: A Tall Ship's Tale', and 'Deep Water Cruising', by EG Martin. (1928) Now used for sail-training for Dauntsey's school and used during Tall ship events. She won the Tall Ship's race in 2000. She is now used for charter and can be found at www.joliebrise.com. |
