'Hispania' was owned by my grandfather John Rene Payne and Hugo Goldie'. Information courtesy of Rosemary Marsh She was originally built for racing by the King of Spain, HRH Don Alfonso XIII. She is now owned by the Fundacion Hispania de Barcos d'Epoca and has spent time being restored at Fairlie Restorations in the UK(2005). She was then shipped to Palma de Majorca in early 2006 for the fitting of her interior and rig by the Astilleros Shipyard and she is hoped to make her debut against her 15-Metre sisters, 'Tuiga' and 'The Lady Anne', in 2007. |
