Originally built as a gaff 12-Metre to the First International Rule for Nils Persson to represent Sweden in the 1912 Stockholm Olympic Games. She won the silver medal, the gold went to the Anker & Jensen design Magda IX, but Erna Signe continued racing, winning Kiel Week that same year. In 1998 Ole Chr. Schróder bought her in a delapidated state. He had a complete restoration done at the Walsted Yard to a high standard although she was not kept to the original design. She was given a bermudan rig, a new teak deck complete with a set of self-tailing winches. |
