Brilliant

Spotted in the binoculars on passage to Greenport, Long Island - 2004 Brilliant!   

Olin Stephens was only 22 when he received this commission from Walter Barnum. During World War II she served in the Coast Guard as an anti-submarine vessel.

She didn't need recaulking until 1979 and won the Tall Ships 2000 transatlantic race with Captain George Moffett. Brilliant is a travelling ambassador for Mystic Seaport and used as a sail training vessel(ASTA). Website: www.mysticseaport.org/brilliant
